Specialist Window Sampling for Restricted Access Sites
Windowless sampling is conducted by Jackson Drilling using tracked percussive rigs, with additional hand-held pneumatic window samplers or a diesel or electrically driven modular unit available for more flexible sampling. These samplers are ideal for subsoil inspection, validation, and domestic oil spill investigations. Samples are collected in seamless plastic tubes for accurate logging by the Engineer.
Windowless sampling is perfect for restricted access sites, contamination investigations, or situations where minimal disturbance is required. The track-mounted equipment is also capable of performing in-situ testing, such as SPT/CPTs and dynamic probe testing. Dynamic Probe testing is a continuous soil testing method that allows the relative density or strength of the ground to be assessed to depths of around 10 meters.
On request, borehole installations for gas and water monitoring wells, piezometers, and inclinometers can be carried out upon completion of the borehole.
Key capabilities of the Jackson Drilling Windowless Sampling Rig include:
- Windowless sampling up to 8m below ground level
- Hand-held window sampling for shallower boreholes
- Dynamic probing up to 12m below ground level
- Ideal for sites requiring widespread sampling
- Adaptable to modular/handheld sites with limited access
- SPT and CPT testing available
- Boreholes can be equipped with monitoring wells upon completion
- Various casing sizes available
- All drillers are NVQ and CSCS certified for safety and expertise
