Gas and groundwater monitoring and sampling gathers valuable data that directly feeds into the design of new developments, however these elements are often sidelined as “less important” as they fall outside the main fieldwork period after the monitoring wells have been installed. Monitoring subsequently takes place on an ad-hoc basis, potentially leading to flawed or incomplete data sets.

Jackson Geo Services have a team of engineers and technicians which are trained and competent to use up to date gas and groundwater monitoring and sampling techniques in accordance with current standards and best practices.

We are able to develop wells, purge wells and sample wells in accordance with the guidance presented within BS10175+A2 (2017) and undertake gas monitoring in accordance with CIRIA C665 (2007) and the current published NHBC guidance.

We own up to date, regularly calibrated, monitoring and sampling equipment to enable the monitoring to take place; equipment includes:

•      Manual Dip Tapes
•      Downhole water level data loggers able to fit both 19mm and 50mm standpipes
•      Geotech GA5000 gas monitor
•      Aquatroll 400 with flow cell
•      Selection of down hole pumps with flow controllers
•      Photo ionization detector (PID) *hired on a per contract basis

Once monitoring and sampling has been completed Jackson Geo Services can provide also provide sample collection from site, lab management and the reporting of results in PDF, Excel and AGS4 format to meet the clients specific requirements. Working with our selected partner laboratories we can offer competitively priced laboratory testing which meets the required detection limits and ensure that samples do not exceed their required holding times (becoming “deviant” samples).

Jackson Geo Services is also able to rehabilitate non-functioning wells. We have experience of using air-lift and surging techniques to retore well functionality and can subsequently prove the success of the well rehabilitation by completing variable head permeability testing. Should the well not be able to be rehabilitated, we can offer the installation of replacement like-for-like wells using our in house drilling resources.
